Disaster Assistance Approved by FEMA for Hancock County

Eight counties have been approved for disaster relief funds following the January 10th and 13th storms. Residents who sustained losses in the designated areas can begin applying for assistance at www.DisasterAssistance.gov , by calling 800-621-FEMA (3362), or by using the FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency App. Information on Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) locations will be made available on maine.gov/flood soon for those that may prefer to meet in person with a FEMA representative.

Browntail Moth Mitigation Grant Available Now

The purpose of this program is to provide Browntail Moth mitigation assistance to eligible households, and is possible due to a grant obtained by the Town of Tremont through the State of Maine’s Department of Agriculture and Forestry.

Description of Work:
Versant Power Crews have scheduled maintenance to the electrical system in Mount Desert, Pretty Marsh, Seal Cove, Somesville and Tremont beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 20. The project is expected to take approximately 2 hours to complete.

Customers may experience service interruptions during this time as crews work upgrade equipment to improve reliability and prevent future outages.
