Duties & Responsibilities
The Municipal Assessor is tasked with locating, identifying, classifying and placing a value on all real and personal property to determine the equal & just portion of the local property tax burden to be assessed to the owner.
The Tax Assessor is also responsible for the management of the Assessing Department and providing for the general administrative and technical work necessary for determining the valuation of all exempt and taxable property in Tremont.
The Town maintains historical and current data on each property, including ownership, parcel boundaries, land and structure inventories, property characteristics and exemptions for institutions and individuals. This information is available for public inspection at the Town Office. Office hours are 8:00am -4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
