Job Opening - Public Works Foreman

Public Works Foreman - The Town of Tremont is seeking a fulltime, year-round Public Works Foreman to oversee the Public Works Department. Minimum requirements include possession of a Maine Class 2 CDL driver’s license, 5 years’ related experience, and a team player attitude.  Application forms available Here or at the Town Office, 20 Harbor Drive, Bass Harbor.  Applications must be submitted by June 1, 2024. Public Hearing - Referendum Ballot Questions - April 22nd 5pm

Town of Tremont Select Board’s Notice for Public Hearing on Monday, April 22, 2024 At 5:00 p.m. On Secret Ballot Referendum Issues:
The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Tremont will hold a public hearing on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Harvey Kelley Meeting Room, to hear public comment on Annual Town Meeting Warrant Articles C through F, which will be voted by secret ballot at the election to be held on Monday, May 13, 2024.
Article C         Short Term Rental Licensing Ordinance: Shall an ordinance entitled “Short Term Rental Licensing Ordinance” as certified by the Select Board on April 22, 2024, be enacted?

Recommendation:  The Selectboard recommend adoption.

Article D         Comprehensive Plan: To see if the voters of the Town of Tremont shall adopt the “Town of Tremont Comprehensive Plan 2023”, and thereby replace the Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2011. 

Recommendation:  The Selectboard recommend adoption.

 Article E         Land Use Ordinance:  Shall an ordinance entitled “Tremont Land Use Ordinance Amendment” as certified by the Select Board on April 22, 2024, be enacted?

Recommendation:  The Selectboard recommend adoption.

 Article F          Site Plan Review Ordinance: Shall an ordinance entitled “Site Plan Review Ordinance Amendment” as certified by the Select Board on January 16, 2024, be enacted?

 Recommendation:  The Selectboard recommend adoption.

FEMA Disaster Assistance

FEMA Disaster Assistance team members will be available to meet with town residents on April, 17th 2024, from 9A.M to 3 P.M. at the Tremont Town office (lower level), Harvey Kelley meeting room 20 Harbor Dr. Bass Harbor to provide information and take applications for financial assistance from homeowners and renters that experienced financial losses as result of the 09-13 January storms that occurred in Hancock County.  

If you’re unable to meet with FEMA on April 17th you’re welcome to visit the FEMA Disaster Recovery Center, every day, 8 A.M. to 6 P.M. at the Moore Community Center, 125 State Street, Ellsworth. Or, residents may call: (800) 621-3362 at their convenience to begin the assistance process. Thank you
